The Forest Hills Northern Huskies dropped 2 games to Northview on Friday, despite outhitting their counterparts. In game 1, Northview jumped out to an early 1-0 lead, but Norhern fought back in the top of the 5th to make it 3-1. Ty Millard (junior), Devon Holt (junior), and Nick Handeland (senior) all had singles in the inning.
Northview roared back in the 5th, however, scoring 5 runs on 3 doubles, and they hung on for the 6-3 victory. Devon Holt pitched for Northern, giving up just 6 hits in the contest.
In game 2, Northern outhit Northview 12-8, yet lost the contest by a 7-5 margin. The Huskies took an early 2-0 lead with singles by Nate Krikke (senior), Nick Wassenaar (junior), and Manny Campbell (junior). They added another run in the 3rd on a single by Cam Wyxocki (senior), and a double by Jared Mahoney (senior).
Northview cut the lead to 3-2 in the 3rd inning on a single and a double. The game remained 3-2 until the 6th inning. The Huskies added a run in the top of the 6th to extend their lead to 4-2. However, Northview took the lead in the bottom of the 6th, scoring 5 runs to run the score to 7-4. The Huskies scored 1 more run in the bottom of the 7th, but fell short in the 7-5 loss.
